Love the winch, but the control box mounting leaves a little to be desired. With a Highlift on the swing-a-way I don't need the factory jack, which leaves plenty of room for what I have in mind.
Placing the control box on the fender provides better air-flow to the radiator, limits access to pranksters, and just plain looks better up front. The next project for ''Little Red'' will be a new location for the remote plug.

LITTLE DID LES T. KNOW THAT THE JEEP HE BOUGHT IN 2000 WOULD HAVE SUCH A ROUGH LIFE WHILE HIS SON WAS GOING TO COLLEGE.
THE FENCE AND THE TREE DIDN'T SLOW THIS ONE DOWN MUCH, BUT WHEN THE MAKE-SHIFT HOOD TIE DOWN LET GO IT GOT A SEVERE CASE HOOD FLY-UP. THIS TOUGH LITTLE JEEP WAS STILL DRIVEABLE, YOU COULDN'T SEE OUT OF WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE WINDSHIELD, BUT IT WAS DRIVEABLE.
LES ASKED IF IT WAS WORTH THE EFFORT, WE SAID YES, AND AWAY WE WENT. FENDERS, HOOD, TAILGATE, PAINT, TOP, INTERIOR RESURECTION, A/C, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, BUMPERS, LIGHTS, WHEELS. KEPT US PLENTY BUSY, BUT WE'RE SURE PROUD OF THE RESULTS.
